Our next upcoming dinner series event is very near and dear to Executive Chef and Veteran, Kris Ludwig. Inspired by his time serving in the Marines in the early 90’s, this 4-course pairing dinner reimagines basic service MRE (meals, ready-to-eat) into delicious and classic dishes. Course 1: "Cheese & Crackers" - WRB Spent Grain Beer Crackers served with house savory cheese spread and topped with smoked paprika oil. Inspired by MRE stale saltine crackers with tubed cheese spread.
Bev Pairing: Clear Sky Cream Ale
Course 2: Ratatouille - Roasted seasonal vegetable medley in a savory tomato gravy. Inspired by MRE of overcooked, mushy, thermostabilized vegetables in a bag.
Bev Pairing: Hot Brass German Black Lager
Course 3: Beef Bourguignon - Braised beef with bacon, carrots, & mushrooms in a rich red wine sauce. Inspired by MRE thermostabilized overcooked stewed beef and vegetables.
Bev Pairing: Chateau Franc Baudron St. Emilion Bordeaux Blend
Course 4: Vanilla Pound Cake - buttery pound case topped with a vanilla buttermilk glaze. Inspired by MRE a bland cake topped with a chalky vanilla icing.
Bev Pairing: Daybreak Coffee Vanilla Cream Ale
